Spring 2010 fashion show presentations: They’re just several weeks away, running from 9/10 – 9/17. This season we will be trying a new addition to our usual format of coverage. After each show’s review, we’re going to be asking our panel of not so expert judges to give the collection grades in various catagories such as wearability, value and design aesthetic. That way, you the reader, will know how a jury of your peers feels about we’ll be seeing in the stores next year. When the grades are up, please feel free to comment on your agreement or disagreement. Who knows, if you impress us, you may find yourself sitting on that panel in the seasons to come.
4/13 Bagtrends party: Bagtrends.com held a shopping fest at the Union Square Ballroom featuring eco-friendly, you guessed it, handbags. The event also offered complimentary manicures and massages.
2/10 JCPenny presentation: JC Penny held a mini-fashion show and cocktail party at Espace on 42nd street to get the word out about their designer driven lines by Nicole Miller, Allen Schwartz, Bisou Bisou, Baby Phat and Charlotte Ronson. The chain retailer is trying to add its name to the list, which includes H&M and Target, for mass market retailers with high-end label collabos. While the other four lines have a very definite mass market appeal, its Charlotte Ronson’s that will have all the edgy downtown New York girls trekking out to the ‘burbs to find a JC Penny.
