Fashion Week, Feb. 11-18 Quick Highlights
Mackage: First show of fashion week, a collection filled with neutrals – camel, brown, navy and black. Nice coats and jackets for men and women. You will need to break out some heavy duty tights to keep warm while wearing those super short skirts though.
BCBG: Darkest collection I can recall for BCBG – color wise.
Toni Maticevski: A lot of glitter, beading and silky fabrics. Draping galore. Loved the shoes with the beading or metal chain detail at the back.
Ports 1961: Futuristic fabrics meets classic shapes with an aviation twist.
Farah Angsana: Classic, timeless evening and cocktail wear, perfect for days when a girl needs to play dress-up. Jewel tones and flattering cuts.
Heart Truth: Celebs prowl the runway in the name of the Red Dress organization which functions to spread the word about the serious issue of heart disease amongst women. Celebs from Felicity Huffman(who paused mid-walk for a quick kiss from husband William H Macy)to Kim Kardashian made an appearance.
MikCire: I believe this was the first show at the tents for MikCire, and the audience was filled with fashionably dressed boys to fete this occasion. A lot of staples (leather jackets and cargo-esque pants) but all with enough interesting details to keep fashion seeking guys pleased.
Helen Yarmak: Furs, furs and more furs – vibrantly colored fur (purple and orange) when you get bored of the basic black, brown and gray furs.
Miguel Antoinne: A lot of focus on outerwear in dark colors with various trimming and zipper details, mostly in dark colors, also lots of leather used.
Christian Siriano: Supremely talented and of course yet another collection of beautiful evening/cocktail wear. Wowed the crowd with his final look – a beautiful fuschia ball gown. Also seen – big bows and incredible shoes with scroll design heels.
Charlotte Ronson:

Lacoste: Bright or monochromatic knits layered together. If Lacoste has its say, it will be a neon fall/winter 2010.

Perry Ellis: Classic American sportswear with most of the looks coming in gray, black and navy. Guests next to me discussed the wisdom of men wearing infinity scarves. I say, why not. Don’t men need warm easy to wear accessories?
Christian Cota: He consistently puts out impressive collections, and the collection this season garnered a visit from Anna Wintour herself. Dresses with metallic sparkle and abstract prints are sure to come in handy for fall/winter.
Emu: As if Uggs didn’t have enough competition already, Emu (also Australian) has invaded the U.S. to give converts to the fashionably comfortable camp an additional choice. They offer an entire line of casual and outerwear along with their line of shoes.
