Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Feb 11-18, 2010

Every year we post pictures of fashion and the Fashionistas in this fun, creative world. Sometimes, there a show which have more eye popping, jaw dropping, outfits, than we can hopefully post. Now, with the video, you get to see what we see!

As of this date, Feb 13th,  I saw some dresses , oh boy did I see some dresses, I felt they would end up on the red carpet at the Oscars.  The designers are working on the backs of the dresses as wel as the front. Personally, I’m one for “just watch me walk away.”My problem is a need at least two rooms, of large size, to hold what I saw just in this short period of time.

Readers, this time I’m going to let you decide what YOU think is the Best Of  Mercedes Benz Fashion Week!

Supima Design Competition 2010

Yesterday, I felt a sheer honor to be a guest at the final of the Suprima Design competition. Which was held at the New York Times Center. I and my rising actress friend Christina Ling got to see talented designers put their best creations on the runway. A few of the Project Runway designers gave a look see. They know what it’s like to be out there and working hard to get your line started. Many other celebs attended along with the best writers and photo journist. Of course the who’s who of fashionista’s just had to attend. After all how will they every know what is the lastest trend? And how to wear it?

The show was hosted by Television Personality Katrina Szish with Guest Presenter Coco Rocha the supermodel. The judging panel including New York Times fashion director Horacio Silva and Parsons dean of fashion Simon Collins. People, you couldn’t get no better panel than that!

With a full house, six finalist put out their best from menwear basic to evening gowns. The colors along with the creativity of using cotton was breathtaking.
The designers were judged on originally, execution, and the ability to reinvent Supima. The Six degners are:

Sachika, Michael Venker, Nadia Ivanova, Robin Tomas, Heber Sanchez, and Gina Desilva.

Ok.. Ok… How many shows did we go to? I forgot. But we did a lot of walking! Most of the show were outside of the tents. Boy did I get fit!
Who has time to Twitter? I certainly didn’t. So much to see and cover.
First and foremost I would like to thank the HauteLook lounge for their hospitality. They had Sony Style VAIO laptops for us to use. So we could keep up with our e-mails. They gave us continental breakfast and lunch which was served daily. Mix cocktails after 4 and daily giveaways. They also had Alvin Valley come in and show his men’s clothing line. We had a wonderful time and are looking forward seeing them again.
I also would like to thank Factory PR, for inviting us to a taping of the Marc Bouwer and Lydia Hearst “runway show” during which all the elements present at your typical Fashion Week runway show did take place – backstage commotion, hair and make-up, light and sound testing and designer interviews.  It was a pleasure meeting both of them.
Also The Daily Suite took excellent care of us. I got a manicure from the best, Myrdith Leon- McCormack. She did work for Elle, Bazaar, to name a few. Right now as we speak, she is in London for their fashion week. We ate and had cocktails in the suite. We got to see my favorite, Bag Trends!!!!!
Then there is Bj Coleman shows! The Coleman Entertainment Group is now working with Nolcha & Nolcha Fashion Week. This is their third year, Nolcha Fashion Week took place simultaneously with New York Fashion week.

It was held at the iconic Bohemian National Hall in association with Czech Republic Consulate General.  Inside, runway shows, accessory exhibits, cocktail parties and fashion business seminars to showed  American and international  fashion designers. The clothing was fierce! I made sure of the four designers I saw, I posted their clothing.

   How was your week?
