I hope everyone did at least one thing to help protect and preserve our planet. I spent the day running to as many Earth Day press events as I could find. My Earth Day contribution was that I took the reusable totes that they handed out at these events and distributed them amongst my family and friends while also delivering a lecture about all the paper and plastic bags Americans use in a year. If you’re curious to know…the statistic is 14 billion plastic and 10 billion paper bags are used annually. Sadly, only a tiny percentage of them are recycled(somewhere in the single digit range). Perhaps one of you reading this can now be inspired to bring your own bag to the grocery store. I’ve also discovered an added side benefit; I’m spending less on groceries because I’ve stopped purchasing all those impulse buy items. Since there is no room in the bag after getting the essentials, I don’t end up buying that pint of ice cream or bottle of soda that I definitely don’t need.

The writers and editors for Inner Circle are presently testing and researching as many eco-friendly products we can find. We all have our favorites and will start putting them up later this week.
