Contestant Orly with Finalists Nzimiro and Ronnie and Winner Kara
On the night of the televised Fashion Star finale, Daily Candy and Suave got together to throw a meet and greet viewing party for some lucky fans (who also happen to be Daily Candy subscribers). Attendees were able to mingle with the finalists while getting pampered with manicures and hair styling. After everyone was looking fabulous from their treatments, the party headed upstairs for the finale viewing. The contestants did quick Q&A sessions during commercial breaks, revealing some amusing bts stuff. Finally the pinnacle of the evening arrived, and the winner was revealed. As I’m sure you all know by now: the winner is, NY’s own, Kara. The night drew to a close, and guests left some souvenirs in the form of Suave hair products. All In For TIKVA
Tikva, along with Marc Ecko, held a fundraiser on August 12th at Cipriani’s on 23rd Street. Instead of the usual dinner and speeches, the event had casino style games of chance and Wii boxing contests. Models, stars of sports and screen along with Tikva supporters drank, ate, danced and gambled the night away inside the restaurant that had been transformed into a 1940s style casino. Guests could have a Las Vegas experience with out stepping foot outside of NYC, and they could gracefully forfit their chips to the house knowing that it was all for a good cause. Tikva supports children in Odessa, Ukraine that are without a home, abused and abandoned. To learn more about the organization and see more photos from the event go to www.tikvaodessa.org

Hamptons Undercover:
Hamptons Undercover, a website aimed at the Hamptons jet-set elite, held a Svedka sponsored fete at High Bar last evening. The event offered mini-spa treatments and the opportunity to gawk at models and socialites as they posed for the cameras. If you arrived early enough to beat the crowd, then you got a chance to stake out a spot in one of the cabanas or on the comfy couches. Seated groups also had the added benefit of their own cocktail waitress, while everyone else had to fight the masses at the bar…which is so not jet-set Hamptons elite. Many guests were seen trying to battle back the dewy glow of perspiration with the numerous postcards strewn throughout the venue. Tuesday’s weather meant that the High Bar was also the Hot and Humid Bar. Luckily the organizers had the foresight to plan a second party immediately afterwards in an indoor space. Party Number two was held at 55 Gansevoort St, and it offered some much needed AC, as well as complimentary Christiana Vodka bottle service (my favorite part of the evening). The free-flowing Christiana, along with partial heat-stroke, created an atmosphere perfect for drunken revelry. I will spare you the lurid details; mainly because the aforementioned drunken revelers mostly consisted of my friends, aquaintances and colleagues, and I don’t want rocks thrown at me the next time I see them. In addition to the gift of two open bars, the Hamptons Undercover events also gifted party-goers with a goodie bag filled with products that will serve you well for that upcoming Hamptons weekend. Peeking inside, I saw everything from Alterna shampoo to Pantina makeup to booze. All in handy portable sizes so your luggage won’t be weighed down in case, heaven forbid, one must carry one’s own bags. So if you’re one of the Hamptons crowd or just an aspiring member check out www.hamptonsundercover.com to connect with other like-minded individuals or use the concierge service so that you really won’t have to carry your own bags.—Caren Kong
